I have always loved books. And my parents made sure I had plenty of them. When I was six, they gave me a set of Winnie-the-Pooh books, by A. A. Milne, and illustrated by E. H. Shepard. I still have them. Soon we moved from Missouri to a small town in Illinois surrounded by woods and farmland. My neighborhood was full of kids, who set out daily to save the world. This is how stories began for me.

When my two children arrived, they discovered their mother had a tendency to read to them each night. And now, years later, we have six grandchildren, and when we visit, we pack a pile of books…
oh, and chocolate for them.

My husband and I live in eastern Missouri near St. Louis. I have been involved in the Missouri Plein Air Painters Association (MOPAPA), the St. Louis Artists’ Guild, SCBWI, Storyteller Academy, and The Illustration Department. By day I work as a graphic artist for a licensed Harley-Davidson screen printing company. I am also currently working on the words and artwork for a picture book.
